Holy shit. I literally haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. “Bad Trip”, released on Netflix, Friday, March 26th, met all of my expectations, that is to say, I really didn’t know what to expect. Most of you probably haven’t heard of Eric Andre, but he had a spoof late-night show, “The Eric Andre Show”, where he would lure unsuspecting guests/celebrities onto his show and basically mess with them and see how far he could take it before they would realize they were on a gag show. So I wasn’t sure what this movie was going to be. But yeah, lol. Laugh out loud, big time.
Why you should go see Bad Trip!
Now I’m going to attempt to sell you this movie without spoiling it completely for you. The format for “Bad Trip” was completely original, as in I don’t think anyone has attempted to make a movie in this fashion. The closest ever was “Jackass” or “Bad Grandpa”. The plot is basic enough: two friends, “Chris” played by Eric Andre and “Bud” played by Lil Rey Howery, set out on a quest for Chris to win his high school crush’s heart, “Maria Li” played by Michaela Conlin. The whole movie is filmed with hidden cameras, so the extras’ reactions are real. Oh, did I mention that their whole trip is full of insane, ridiculous pranks and scenarios that they somehow end up in? Just thinking about the gorilla scene, ha, you guys and gals gotta see it. While I may be dry these days, it is totally a stoner movie. So if you haven’t seen it yet, sit down for an hour and a half and watch it. You won’t be disappointed.
