Movie: Zombieland Double Tap (Dry Review)

Zombieland: Double Tap is dropping some serious zombie “same old same old” you don’t ever get tired of. Wreaking havoc on the undead is all par for the course in the cult followed classic Zombieland sequel. Keeping with the philosophy, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”, writers Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and David Callaham stick to the foundation of what zombie slaying is all about. Introducing growth, change and romance all the while keeping the cast just as snarky, sarcastic, assholeage, gritty and tough as they were in part one with all their quirky, funny, idiotic behaviors. New cast arrivals, Madison (Zoey Deutch), Nevada (Rosario Dawson), Albuquerque (Luke Wilson), and Flagstaff (Thomas Middleditch) help push the movie along as they work to help the fierce four, Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Columbus (Jessie Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) embark on a journey filled with laughter, drama and of course tons of mayhem. Ruben Fleischer, the director, utilizes all the traditional methods for terminating these half-witted, throat gargling, ankle biters in pure zombie fashion…. shot gun rounds to the face, knives through the chin, the classic head boot stomp and the never-failing run em all over just to name a few.

It doesn’t take much focus to follow Zombieland: Double Tap, nor will you miss anything significant if you need to pop out the theater for a minute or two.

I would give it an 8 out of 10.
